Cnidaria
The phylum cnidaria is made of of 10,000 aquatic species. They are multicellular invertebrates. Their distinguishing feature is cnidocytes, which are cells that are used to capture their prey. Their bodies are made of mesoglea, which is a
jelly-like substance. Cnidaria have two forms: the free- swimming medusa, and the stationary polyp; and they are are almost always symmetrical.
